Have you been trying to lose weight for a while, but just can’t seem to remove that few extra pounds? Are you suffering from memory issues, fatigue or numbness without any apparent cause?
If either of these describes you, then we may have the solution for you.
At One Agora Integrative Health, we have two options for injections; ENERGY BOOST- Vitamin B12 Injections and WEIGHT LOSS SHOT- LipoVite.
Vitamin B12 Injections Benefits
Vitamin B12 is essential for carbohydrate metabolism, neurotransmitter production, and DNA synthesis. Therefore, it can be utilized for anti-aging, energy, and mood enhancement. The Energy Boost Vitamin B12 injection is formulated specifically to improve a patient’s energy, mood, and vitality.
B12 injections can also help treat vitamin B12 deficiency. People who are at risk of developing vitamin B12 deficiency include adults over the age of 65 and vegetarians, as stomach acid production lessens with age and most dietary vitamin B12 comes from meat and fish.
There are also other factors that can tamper with your digestive system and interfere with your ability to absorb vitamin B12, such as:
- Stomach stapling or other form of weight-loss surgery
- Celiac or Crohn’s disease
- Prescribed heartburn drugs that reduce stomach acid production
Other conditions that may require you to take higher doses of Vitamin B12 include:
- Hepatic disease
- Renal disease
Vitamin B12 deficiency can be slow to develop, causing symptoms to appear gradually and intensify over time. Symptoms may include:
- Strange sensations, numbness, or tingling in hands, legs, or feet
- Balance problems
- Swollen, inflamed tongue
- Jaundice (yellowing skin)
- Difficulty thinking and reasoning
- Memory problems
- Fatigue or trouble sleeping
If not properly treated, vitamin B12 deficiency can result in several neurologic conditions, such as:
- Paresthesia (numbness, burning, or prickling)
- Memory loss
- Personality and mood changes
- The inability to produce myelin, a substance that protects your neurons
- Neuron degeneration
Our Lipovite injections for weight loss contain MIC, which stands for L methionine, inositol, and choline.
L-methionine is an essential amino acid, which means it cannot be synthesized by the body. It helps to form a compound called S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe), which is responsible for:
- The synthesis of choline, carnitine, and creatine, which are important for cellular energy
- The breaking down of estrogen
- Production of the antioxidants glutathione and melatonin, which can protect against cellular damage; melatonin is also necessary for regular sleep
Inositol is a B vitamin that is a crucial part of phosphatidylinositol, an important component of cell signaling. It plays a role in:
- Mobilizing and breaking down fats and cholesterol
- Converting food into energy
- Improving communication in the nervous system
Choline is a water-soluble nutrient that’s related to the B vitamins and performs many of the same functions. Choline helps with:
- Brain and nerve function
- Liver support
- To transport nutrients throughout the body
- Brain health
- Decreasing the risk of dementia
Each of these chemicals helps the body to utilizing fat, burning fat, and distributing energy; when working together, may be able to help you lose weight.
B12 and Lipovite Injection Procedures and Results
Our vitamin B12 shots only use methylated versions of B12 (cobalamin) or hydroxocobalamin, based on your needs. Methylation is the attachment of a methyl group to a vitamin; as a result, these treatments are more readily absorbed by your body. While your dose and number of shots will very on your personal vitamin B12 levels, you will usually receive about 1000mg of B12 supplement per shot, and likely undergo a cycle of 8 to 10 injections over the first two to three months. Afterwards, you may be able to cut down to injections once a month, though older adults might require weekly injections to restore their levels to normal.
Benefits of B12 injections include increased energy, an improved metabolism, improved mood, and a lower risk of cardiovascular disease.
Although rare, side effects of Vitamin B12 injections can include:
- Pain/redness at the injection site
- Mild diarrhea
- A feeling of swelling all over the body
- Low blood potassium levels (hypokalemia), which may cause muscle cramps, weakness, or irregular heartbeat
The best results of the Lipovite shots come from multiple injections on a weekly basis in order to increase and support the higher levels of the Lipovite shots’ water-soluble vitamins. We recommend 1 injection per week for 8 weeks with the B12 shots and 1 injection per week for 12 weeks with the B complex and MIC.
With this treatment, you may be able to lose three pounds a week. Other benefits may include lower cholesterol levels, happier mood, improved liver function, and suppressed appetite.
Rare side effects of Lipovite shots may include:
- Allergic reactions like itching, hives, shortness of breath, and swelling of the tongue, throat, and mouth
- Mild nausea or persistent diarrhea
- Headaches or lightheadedness
If you experience any of these side effects from either vitamin B12 or Lipovite injections, talk to your healthcare provider right away.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is B12 Good For?
Vitamin B12 is essential for carbohydrate metabolism, neurotransmitter production, and DNA synthesis. Therefore, it can be utilized for anti-aging, energy, and mood enhancement. Vitamin B12 injections can also help treat vitamin B12 deficiency.
What Causes Low B12?
Low vitamin B12 levels can be caused by a number of different factors and conditions. As the body can only absorb B12 from non-plant food materials—especially meat, fish, dairy, and eggs—vegetarians and vegans are at a high risk. Adults over the age of 65 may also have a high risk of having low B12 levels, as their stomachs may not produce enough stomach acid. Other factors that can disrupt the body’s absorption of B12 include weight-loss surgery on the stomach, celiac or Crohn’s disease, and heartburn medication. Conditions and diseases that may require a higher level of B12 include pregnancy and hemorrhage.
How Long Does a B12 Shot Last?
How many shots you will need depends on your vitamin B12 deficiency. While most patients will eventually only need monthly injections to restore their B12 levels to normal, older patients may require weekly injections.
