Acupuncture is a form of Chinese medicine that utilizes small fine needles to stimulate the energy flow (called chi/qi) in the body. It has been utilized as a healing practice for thousands of years.
The purpose of the treatment is to restore energy and balance into the body by needling specific points and locations in the body. The needles rarely hurt but some discomfort can occur with insertion.
We are excited to offer acupuncture in conjunction with the other therapies we offer at the clinic. Dr. Meaghan Kirschling is certified in acupuncture and it can be used to help with many issues including:
- Muscular and skeletal concerns
- Menstrual concerns, such as cramps and irregular periods
- Joint pain
- Fibromyalgia and chronic pain
- Plantar fascitis
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Hot flashes
- Heat and cold intolerances
- Mood disturbances
- Sinus concerns
- Weight loss
- Smoking Cessation
What to expect?
Acupuncture sessions usually last about 30-45 minutes. Once the needles are in, most people don’t feel anything. Acupuncture is very relaxful for most individuals.
