      Dermaplaning in Bloomington MN

Reveal newer, smoother, younger-looking skin with Dermaplaning at One Agora Integrative Health. Customized to meet the needs of your skin type and concerns, Dermaplaning is a medical-grade procedure that can reduce the appearance of skin imperfections like acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles, uneven or dull skin tone, rough skin, and other skin issues.

Unlike other skin treatments, a Dermaplaning is performed using a surgical tool called a scalpel - and experience, expertise and skill in delivering a Dermaplaning is essential! The treatments that can be paired with Dermaplaning can take your results even further.

One Agora Integrative Health uses Dermaplaning to treat a wide variety of facial concerns – but it’s not just for your skin. Dermaplaning also removes facial hair – and it doesn't affect hair follicles or impact the rate, thickness, coarseness or color of facial hair regrowth. Dermaplaning can also be used on underarms and the bikini area.

With Dermaplaning, you will enjoy immediate results, but you will also see how Dermaplaning can transform the appearance and health of your skin over time and slow the effects of aging. To see glowing results with no pain or downtime, schedule your Dermaplaning session today. Call ☎ (952) 234-5898 or contact us online to make an appointment.

      What is Dermaplaning?

Also known as blading or microplanning, Dermaplaning is a non-invasive, low-risk procedure that's safe for all skin types when performed by a certified Dermaplaning professional or aesthetician. Dermaplaning treatment utilizes a surgical tool known as a scalpel to remove the top layer of the skin, as well as peach fuzz and more mature hair growth. It can also be used to address unique, individual concerns you have with your skin. Dermaplaning can provide smoother and more radiant skin and improved skin texture, as well as better product absorption.

It’s ideal for smoother makeup applications to create that look of smooth perfection before a big event. And it can be a perfect enhancement for most facial treatments.

It's not the same as using a facial razor, as those can only remove hair at a surface level and do not provide the same level of exfoliation.

Also, Dermaplaning is also a non-irritating treatment – and that’s important because treatments that irritate the skin are known to cause premature aging. With Dermaplaning, your results are immediate and only improve with each Dermaplaning session you invest in - for a lifetime of skin health and beauty.

      What conditions does Dermaplaning treat?

Dermaplaning is most commonly used to address the following conditions:

      • Acne scars
      • Fine lines and wrinkles
      • Dead skin cells
      • Peach fuzz
      • Dry skin (especially when combined with the use of moisturizers)
      • Sun-damage
      • Rough skin
      • Dull skin
      • Aging skin
      • Uneven skin tone
      • Congested pores (but not acne)
      • Enlarged pores

Dermaplaning can be beneficial for all skin types. It’s not, however, recommended for active cases of acne or sunburn – though it can help acne scarring or sun damage. It is also not a good choice for sensitive skin or rosacea.

What are the benefits of Dermaplaning?

There are so many benefits to Dermaplaning – and the effects are immediate, chemical-free and painless. And the results get even better over time. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Dermaplaning has also been around for a while and has a proven safety record. But its popularity would make you think it’s the latest and greatest discovery. The excitement comes from all its benefits. Dermaplaning can do all this and more:

      • Diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
      • Uncover new layers of fresh, dewy skin
      • Create a more healthy, radiant look
      • Smooth rough skin
      • Even out skin texture
      • Encourage faster cell turnover
      • Remove peach fuzz

Dermaplaning also can be used in conjunction with other treatments for its benefits. It can:

      • Complement skin peels, allowing them to penetrate more deeply
      • Prepare the skin for further rejuvenating procedures like laser treatments

      Is Dermaplaning Safe?

Your One Agora Integrative Health specialist will work with you to determine if Dermaplaning is a good fit for you, but Dermaplaning treatments are generally considered safe for all skin types, skin tones, ages and genders. All but the most sensitive skin can easily tolerate Dermaplaning treatment.

If necessary, we may perform a skin evaluation and sensitivity test and may select specific treatment serums and/or customize the treatment for your unique skin needs or conditions. In most cases, individuals with open, untreated or infected wounds should be treated before undergoing skin treatments. Also, skin conditions like psoriasis, rosacea, eczema or active cases of acne are contraindicated for Dermaplaning.

What Can You Expect From Your Dermaplaning Session?

Your Dermaplaning will be provided in our office. The longevity of your session will likely depend on the condition being addressed, but normally run 30 minutes – longer if it’s your first session and involves a medical history and other new patient needs.

You should not experience any pain, side effects or downtime from your Dermaplaning. Your One Agora Integrative Health specialist will discuss any aftercare you might need.

When Will I See the Results?

Most clients report seeing immediate visible skin improvement and an even, radiant skin tone after just one session, with the smooth texture and hydration from the Dermaplaning lasting usually three weeks and sometimes longer. Dermaplaning can provide an impressive quick fix, but they are designed to be ongoing treatments for overall skin health. One treatment per month is recommended for improving the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, acne scarring or dull skin – and more!
